About Our Program
Professor Munjed Al Muderis is delighted to introduce the No ‘Out-of-pocket’ Expenses Surgery Program, an innovative approach to a variety of procedures, including primary hip and knee joint replacement, and tailored for eligible patients under private health insurance. The program gives eligible patients peace of mind with no out-of-pocket costs from hospital admission through to discharge and post-surgery rehab.
The vision of this program is to make quality healthcare more affordable to as many Australians as possible, avoiding unnecessary costs.
The program is available at Macquarie University Hospital and East Sydney Private Hospital.

Hip, Knee & Limb Lengthening Specialist
One of the world’s most experienced orthopaedic surgeons and a leading hip, knee and limb lengthening specialist with over 5,000 joint replacements completed with the latest technology. Professor Al Muderis is responsible for transformational innovations in surgical technique and technology. He is a locally trained Orthopaedic surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a clinical professor at Macquarie University and the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Dr Mustafa Alttahir
Ankle, Foot & Hand Specialist
Dr. Mustafa completed a Lower Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital. Dr. Mustafa specialises in Foot & Ankle Surgery (including Total Ankle Replacement: For both simple and complex deformities) and Foot Reconstructive surgery with a strong preference for joint preserving surgery wherever possible. Dr. Mustafa also specialises in Lower Limb Deformity Correction and Lower Limb Arthroplasty.
